GK 12V

This is a project I've have lingering around for 2-3 years.

As the keen readers might have noted I'm a fan of BMS drivers and got my hands on a BMS 4594ND coax driver and this makes this cab do its thing.

I wanted the cab to be 

- The same width as my subs 

- To be full range when needed

- High output

- Reasonable throw

The V baffle arrangement is interesting, it has a massive null around 750-900Hz so the compression driver would have to be able to crossover before the null

The cab consist of 2x 12" driver in a reflex cab with the coax drive on 60x40 horn.

I also decided on a wheel board due to the size of the cab, its not overly heavy with the Neo drivers in but makes loading in easy .

They sit on my 18"subs (which might be getting redesigned to increase the stack hight) crossover @ 90Hz presently and around 700Hz between 12"s and coax and 7Khz between the 1.4" and 1".

Still need to finalise the processor setting and will post a some smaart screen shots when there done.

GK51CX cab complete

I went for a flat semi gloss finish on these little cabs they came out ok.

Still have the passive crossover to design but the cab is finished.

Running active at present, sounding very detailed and clean.
The low end is present and punchy.

This week I started on a little 5"+1" coax box to go with the SM's.

The brief for them was detailed near field monitors.
They cover around 95Hz to 19Khz and are 189mm cubes.

I've still to sort the passive crossovers.

Q15 spraying

Finally got round to spraying these. 

I'm very happy with the results.
I'm using my 8"+1" tops crossed over at 149Hz, I did think the tops would run out of steam but seem to keep up with the subs well.

Finally got the port tuning sorted and port fixed in.

Q15's started

Last year I landed on the neo version of the driver Mr.Wilkes used on his Q15 sub.

I extrapolated the info online and came up with my own version.

The external dimensions are near the original. 

Decided to go with 3 ports I presume smaller than the original, still need to check the tuning and do some testing but all in all a very efficient, musical box.

81 finished

I finished the 81 cabs a few months ago and got lazy on posting.

The cabs were CNC cut by Ian at Adlib audio in Liverpool, glued and screwed together.

After the cabs were filled and sanded they got sprayed with Warnex.

I'm happy with the outcome, I used a pressure pot spray system.

I think next time I'll lay it on a but thicker.

Each cab was lined with 25mm of darken, the drivers loaded, top hat fitted,  feet screwed on, connector plate fitted and wrap round grill attached.
